I always enjoyed art and thought it would be fun to do -- which it is, but I did not know how hard it was. I believe it takes a lot of time and hard work to produce a successful work of art, more so than talent. I have been doing this work since being discharged from the service in 1954. The magical GI Bill allowed me to spend four years at the Maryland Institute of Art. After graduating in 1958 I went west to the Bay Area. There I did any work I could find in the art field.
My wife Mary Anne, also an artist, and I travel a lot to sketch whatever is of interest to us.I seem to like doing series of things such as barns, Native American ruins, Anasazi petroglyphs and pictographs, adobe churches of New Mexico, etc. This all started years ago when we sought out old mining towns of the west. It was great and profitable way to spend our summers.
In 1990 Mary Anne and I moved to Prescott, Arizona.
I really hope you enjoy viewing my art work.
Thanks, Joe Seney
